Billie Eilish Is Correct in Saying Men Are Weak

It’s about time men understand that their position of power has made them become weak.

As a gay man, I’ve often found myself telling my girlfriends that I know my sex is problematic. To a degree, I understand the troublesome things that men put people through on a regular basis, while still recognizing that I have male privilege. So it came as no surprise to me that Billie Eilish was on the cover of British Vogue showing her beautiful body for one of the first times and proclaiming that men can be very weak. Men are very weak and it is about time we don’t take it as an insult but something that needs to be worked on and addressed.

According to the CDC, 1 in 5 women have experienced completed or attempted rape during their lifetime compared to 1 in 38 men. Once you look at those below the age of 17, 1 in 3 females and 1 and 4 males experienced sexual assault between 11–17. For those below the age of 10, 1 in 8 females and 1 and 4 males reported it. As you can see from the data, it shows that females of any age and boys are far more likely to experience sexual assault than men. Billie Eilish alluded to that in the Vogue issue.
