How Black Conservatives Sell Themselves Out

In their quest for white validation, acceptance, and wealth, Black influencers like Candace Owens and Christian Walker align themselves with conservatism believing themselves to be on equal footing with white people.

Black Social Conservatism is an oxymoron. It doesn't align with the reality faced by African-Americans. Conservatism, at its core, is about individual liberty. Social conservatism seeks to instill traditional power structures in place by reversing or stemming the direction of change. In reality, trying to maintain traditional power structures would encourage a system that keeps white people on top. Why would Black people encourage such a system? Influencers like Candace Owens and Christian Walker show that embracing ideologies that harm Black people enriches them in the process. On their quest for riches, they advocate for systems in place that keep white people in power.

Candace Owens is an interesting case study in the destructive yet rewarding journey that comes from selling out. She is a New York Times best-selling author, she has 2.6 million followers on Twitter, 3.4 million on Instagram, and has her own tv show coming out on The Daily Wire called Candace. It would be hard to deny that…
