I’m tired of America funding wars at the expense of its citizens.

Domestic aid is always too expensive, while foreign aid seemingly has no budget.

On 11/02/23, the US House passed an aid bill for Israel, tying the aid to spending cuts. The aid bill, passed largely on partisan lines, would require that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) slashed a tax enforcement initiative. In other words, Republicans in the House agreed to provide money to another country’s war if we made sure to cut initiatives at home that would have decreased the financial deficit over time. This isn’t the first time that politicians, both Republicans and Democrats, have claimed that we need to be fiscally responsible at home while seemingly having unlimited funds for wars abroad.

When the Israeli-Hamas conflict first broke out, there were questions around if the US could support funding two foreign conflicts. After all, the country has been funding the Russo-Ukrainian War since 2022 when Russia decided to invade Ukraine. How much money has been given to the country since then? $43,900,000,000. The Biden Administration has provided Ukraine with $43.9 billion in assistance since the conflict broke out and yet cannot afford any such assistance domestically.
