Like many other people with type 1 diabetes, I watched the Nick Jonas Dexcom Super Bowl Ad with excitement and glee. I pointed to the device that lies behind my arm feeling proud to see myself being acknowledged on one of the largest stages.
A few years ago, the standard of care for managing blood sugar levels was through finger-pricking. It involved pricking your finger with a small needle, putting blood into a small strip that was then interpreted by a glucometer. This had to be done several times a day to determine where blood sugar levels were at before and after meals. However, all of that changed with Dexcom.
