Preserving Whiteness Is Killing America
As America becomes more diverse, those latching onto the idea of Whiteness are directly contributing to the demise of it.
As the Trump presidency comes to an end, I cannot help but see as his base latches onto Whiteness even more to retain control of their narrative that the only way America can succeed is with him as the leader. They have thrown out baseless claims of cheating and manipulation as the only way for Biden to have won. And as much as I want to say this seems uncharacteristic for his base, the idea of Whiteness and those who desperately cling to it have been supporting this principle for centuries and are assisting in the downfall of America.
It is hard to accurately define whiteness. Is it just the state of being white or does it represent something more like a culture? Can it be defined in the same way as blackness? The issue boils down to the inability to accurately describe white identity¹.
The need to preserve whiteness is like a self-destructive behavior. It may feel good in the moment to uphold the system but each day that you support it and make baseless claims to advance its causes, the more harm…
